Mr. Schick Is Out Sick?

Today Mr. Schick wasn't here,
so we made sure to finish the video with open ears.
We learned about greek pottery and vases,
all while keeping a smile on our faces.
We were able to watch the video as a class,
which was good because the video went on to talk about a man called Isagoras.
He was a tyrant, which is no good,
all because his brother got murdered in the hood.
He became very sad and I would be too,
he just needed some help from a therapist or two.
Of course they werent around all the way back then,
but that doesn't mean he couldnt have found a good friend.
He never got help and he turned away,
and he decided to travel to Sparta for the day.
He came back ready to fight,
and he would seize control of Athens by night.
That didnt last long as the public fought back,
to ensure that their thriving democracy didnt shatter and crack.
They traped Isagoras on top of a hill,
where he could see Athens no longer standing still.
He was forced to let it go and to stop his act,
which helped the Athenians gain their freedom back.
What a great story about ancient Greece,
but thats all I have today so...Peace.
