Guns, Germs, and Steel part 3
Today we continued watching the same video from yesterday and today we got a little off topic while discussing crops. We started off by discussing the video and how the stone age era discovered domesticated farming. We very quickly branched a little off topic in order to hear an example that we would understand better. Eventually we got so deep into our coversation about apples and corn that I almost forgot what the original topic of conversation was. I guess that is my fault but I still really enjoyed that part of the class. We kept watching the video and we got to make guesses on how many animals have been sucessfuly domesticated, and the answer is not very many. There is only about 14 species of animals that have been domesticated by humans out of about 2 million. We also discussed the Pow Wow and we can go and get a picture for some extra credit and Im actually really excited about going. Thats about it for today and now I really cant wait for saturday.
