The Plague of the Nation

The time we live in is crazy. Have you seen?
I cannot believe you have never heard of COVID-19.
The plague of the nation has been quite devestating,
and that is why I am currently at home practicing social distancing.
I know this may come as a shock because we are not used to this,
but of very similar event occured in the Greek city-state of Athens.
The plague of Athens was a nasty one that wiped out the nation,
and it is crazy to think that we are in a similar situation.
As long as we stay healthy and clean,
we will not end up like the Athens scene.
The plague of Athens included symptoms of the flu,
and the breathing issues and throwing up could a victim bright blue.
The same thing goes for those with the Coronavirus,
and now, people are as blue as my iris.
The plague that struck Athens occured during the Peloponnesian war,
and the plague that struck us we still do not understand what for.
The plague of Athens resulted in a lack of following the rules,
and the same thing goes for many Americans who think they are so cool.
The number one rule to prevent this virus is to wash you hands,
but the second most important thing is to stay home with your fam.
After the outbreak Athens got stricter laws,
and the rules for this day did the same, but with many flaws.
While the plague of Athens was unexpected and caused a great loss of life,
Athens found a way to get back up and continue their fight.
But it was not long before Athens realized they would never recover,
They were defeated by Sparta and fell harder than ever.
But what we must remember is that we live in a different time,
We are not going to fall like Athens did, we will make it out alive.
That is all for today and I will see you all on Monday,
Stay safe and healthy and have a wonderful day!

- Karlee :)
