Mummification and the Egypt Nation

Today we took some more notes using Mr. Schicks powerpoint. We learned that there are many good things about the Egyptian way of life and their culture. In ancient Egypt, whoever was Pharoh was well respected and no one really had a problem with it, everyone seemed so calm about it all and no one was worried that something was going to go wrong if someone voted for the wrong person. It wouldnt have been a bad life, if you lived in acient egypt, especially compared to todays government. Egypt had the power to go from two seperate areas to one giant nation, with very minimal complaints. Another thing about the Egyptians is that they used a process called 'Mummification' to preserve the bodies of the dead for the 'after-life'. They would scrape out your brain, preserve your organs in jars, and place jewels in your tomb to ensure you safe travels and a healthy body in your next life. Some of that may seem crazy now, but that was their religion and their way of life. Im sure of they were to come back to life in todays world and meet a christian, they would think we were pretty crazy too. Im really excited to learn more about the Egyptian ways of life, and I can't wait for our next class.
