Latitude, Longitude, and very large versions of Antarctica

Today in class we discussed lines of latitude and longitude and how they help us to describe a location. We looked at a power point and we observed some more maps, and one of these maps had a very large version of Antarctica that took up more space on the map than the continents themselves. Another map we looked at didn't even have the United States on it because the Mediterranean hadn't discovered that there was such a place at the time. Maps are crazy and very cool and you never know what you're going to see next. We discussed the Tropic of Cancer, Tropic of Capricorn, Equator, and Prime Meridian too. We also learned that Greenwich is pronounced Grin itch and not Green witch. It was a good class and I really enjoy it.
